Don't you just log into to your paypal and send it to an email address, https means it is a secure site over the normal http.

I know what you mean some scammers make mirror sites so as long as you enter the right address and it comes up https when you go to log in I wouldn't be to worried.

Frosty's right Bill. Just log into YOUR PayPal and send the money to their email address.
Works good. :)

yes.  just go to http://www.paypal.com.au/au  and do your stuff.
You are not being redirected, you are not being sent to something that looks like it.  YOU typed it in. Should be good.

When you attempt to login/auth it should flip to a HTTPS session (ie more secure).
If you hover your mouse over the Login button you should see a https://www.paypal.com.au/au in your status bar.  If that string is complete, rather than have some funny http address further along it, then you are on the legit page.

You are right to show some concern. Always look at the potential address some link resolves to, before clicking on it. No different to many other things in life. I have seen some amazing pieces of work to fool you into thinking you are on the real page, but if you are sensible and alert, it is going to be rare to be caught out.

Bill - I also leave a few dollars actually in paypal (not just the linked bank account) - if heading to a mirror site I doubt whether they would have that level of detail?
