Title: New member from Canada
Post by: Cabmkr on August 01, 2011, 11:30:51 am
Hi everyone, about 4 years ago I was bitten by the vintage bug. When I got one of our girls an atv I found an XT500, it ran well but was a bit rough and then over the winter did a frame up resto and now driving it on the street. Since then I picked up and IT400E, another full resto, a Hodaka Ace100 1972, 2 TY250's 75 77 and an XS650 I am building into a stretttracker. Looking forward to be part of the forum!

Cheers, Chris

Thanks guys, ya the XS will be cool, will be done up proper (as funds permit)  as on of my buddy is a pro flat track racer and bike builder, so he has already told me what I should and shouldnt do with it. It will have Jemco pipes, mikuni's and the chassis done first, then after a bit I will dive into the motor.

It will turn out something like this

As for where I am from, I am in Muskoka about 2 hours north of Toronto, best riding is in the spring and fall when the cottagers have  left or on the ice when the lakes have frozen!

Thanks man, ya we live in a good place  ;D

Here is before and after of the last years project 78 IT400. The frame, tank ,RH main case, motor side covers, cyl, head transmission rear hub  are "original" everything else is not. Dam, I forgot how many pieces I have bought for it!

Before

After

Finally had it out on the trails tonight and runs great both in the woods and the sand pit nearby and even though it is stupid fast on top, it pulls like a tractor off the bottom. So i guess bigger is better!!
