Not sure where to post this....
Is anyone out there doing bar raisers for VMX - particularly an RM465?
The 465 looked a lot taller when I was 13!
at 6ft 3 I could do with some help!
Cheers

As modern bars are much lower than even 80 styles , I purchased bar raisers just at my local bike shop along with Jimmy Button bend Rethold in black. This combo works for me.

A few guys have been running quad bike bars, and have been happy with them.
I'd add that modern bars are lower to suit the more modern riding style of putting weight over the front. If you ride like that, then the modern bars will help rather than hinder.
I'm 6'0", and find that the lower bars give me MORE room, rather than less - more of a MTB riding position. Tall bars tend to push my weight back and make me even slower than normal.

I had a pair of '70's Wassell alloy bars on my IT400C when I first built it up - they had a nice period sweep and height. But i had to change my riding style to suit.
I later changed them to a pair of early '80's Wassel bars - a bit straighter and a bit lower.. Made it easier to switch from a modern bike to the IT..
I'm not 100% sure which I'm quicker with, but if I had to hazard a guess, I think I may have been quicker with the '70's bars and riding the bike the way it was designed for... I think.... ::)

Ballards Offroad have risers. They raise the bars about 20mm roughly. Then there is MD Racing products in UK (website and ebay shop). they have bar risers from 10mm up to about 30mm in in height. I was looking at them the other week. Billet aluminium.

Thanks all
Once I get the bike going and have a ride I will make a call on what to do
It's just that I have lifted the bars by 20mm on my 'modern' and it makes a lot of difference on the trails
