Hi All, I tried looking through some old posts but could find a definitive answer....
I am looking to have the forks and shock looked at for my 1982 RM465Z and as I am 100+ kgs (and counting!) I was looking at getting Heavy duty springs etc plus have the aftermarket valves or cartridge added to the forks
Does doing this jeopardise its legality for pre 85 VMX
Cheers

The rules are silent, so there's no definitive answer, but:
1. Nobody will know, and scrutiny is never that thorough.
2. If you get disqualified, so too will at least half the field, so its never gonna happen...
Just fit them and enjoy the improvement.

Great answer Nathan. I loved it! Could you imagine someone protesting the superior action of your forks if you beat them. LOL Cheers Jerry

Nathan is 100% correct.
Mate, go crazy & do what you like. Some of the stuff I've seen seriously takes the piss, and the dollars spent is insane. You may as well be running full blown USD forks off a new bike; full cartridge kits, the works. All on bikes that run near the pointy end at the Nats.
As long as it looks standard on the outside, you'll be fine.

Then function over form it shall be!
Once I belatedly start my racing career I fully expect to be challenging the sweep!...... is there anything in the rules to give cause for protesting against the guy coming last!! if not then I should be OK :)
PS the budget is modest and getting modester by the day!
