Got a hole in a fuel tank from an exhaust, it's only small, but could get alot bigger if I don't get some advice before I start.
Anyone done it before ?

Fixed a small hole in my kx tank from the same cause many yeaqrs back. I used a large soldering iron and some small slivers of plastic that were carefully shaved from other thicker parts of the tank. Use a swirl type action to melt and move the plastic to were you need it to be.

evo are you in sydney? if so try this bloke amaroo plastic mark 0408169661 have seen some of his work looks good.bike mudguards, cars bumper bars. he will tell you straight if he can or can not.as flatracker said if you have the same plastic it helps.

What Flattracker said will work OK. Before you do anything, it is worth thoroughly cleaning the area with acetone/thinners. If the tank is from a 2T, the oil from the fuel can mix with the molten plastic and cause a leak/weep.
Most bike fuel tanks can be welded sucessfully, the majority are polyethalene
