What am i offered for these barn find tanks...i believe they are off 1981 YZ 465 and 50 H models. Don`t tell YZ250H. He will push the price too high.

They look like they've been painted... more than likely the paint will bubble if that's the case.

My money is on painted - look at the bolts sticking out the back of both ;).

How much you got water boy

I believe the 50 H is the same bike Gally used to win Mr Motocross in `81 after his OW shit itself. That should make it worth heaps

Is 50cc the same size(tank wise) as 80cc for those models?, if yes have let me know please.

Cause Jen Hawkins arms got tired holding them up while i painted them. So i tied wire to the bolts and hung them up

Anyways SOLD to a Mr Barsby from Perth

This tank was painted 2 yrs ago and has had fuel in it continually

Hard to tell from those pics but if you can paint them and they don't peel even with fuel in them then all I can say is good job.

Yeah the white bolts were the give away ;). Some people say painting can work but you never hear them come back with a long term report 12 months down the track to say if the paint is holding up so i would be interested to see how these hold up. There would need to be a the liner inside. If you can get one that works in plastic then your set. Anyone can spray a tank with plastic primer and flex additive in the paint but if you have no liner on the inside, it will still eventually bubble. Reports out of US are that Caswell has a liner that works in plastic tanks and a few guys are having good results with that.
