Gidday and thanks for a great 49th birthday party, the fireworks were a huge surprise, the sparklers - what a bonus, the cake, well what can i say - thanks Jo and the girls. As for the koalas, I can only say, they had the best view of the best track that I have raced on in such a long time, For those that didn't or couldn't make it, I wish you were there. It only took us 2 1/2 hrs to get there, and it was worth every klm. When you see a perfect, natural terrain, loamy, original motocross track including the best set of woushagle whoop-de-doos, you wish you were in your 20's again. I've had the best results in the last 5 years. Thanks to all those who participated in possibly the best venue for vintage motocross that I have attended in the last 17 years. I can assure you that we will be back to Yarram next year, from both myself and my friends from the viper club that attended thank you to everyone who worked on the day from the club including the canteen crew and corner marshals, to Dawn Baker for lap scoring, and Ross Nimmo for start-gate control, also Mark, Michael and Jo for their time taking all those photos, and by the way i got a 2nd for day in pre 85 big bore go the mighty rm500d yehaah Bear.

G'day Simon, Yarram looked to suit a Big Bore looked fast & flowing, did they specially prep it for Viper or is that how it is?
last time i rode that track was 1987, only the pit area look familiar to me.
-
Was a freeway needed to be rougher they did prep it for viper very well
-
As Gaz said a great day was had by all.Track was so good even I got a first on the 500 in one race :o Rain stayed away till everyone was packing up,and about the same driving time as Corner inlet. Which ever way you went! Track was prepped well and held up great till the end of the day. Another great track to add to the Viper list, hope we go back soon ;)

Hoony, alot of it is the same but looks different because they've had some big machinery go over the track making it generally wider and less natural than it was.Basically the grid is the same but the first part of the track (on the flat)has been changed around after that the back section with the hill and all is the same but it all flattened out abit and the steep hill before the finish less steep. Its a great VIPER freindly track but if you like fast following bigbore tracks come to the next round at Yanakie.

Pretty obvious a lot of time and effort went into preping the track, AAA+ presentation.
A fantastic effort by the Yarram MCC!!!
Should be putting up a few more shots real soon.
Cheers YT

I will shave next time Brent ok!!!!!!
Yes top job by Travis and the boys at Yarram great Sat night by the fire with Dawn & Ken and all other Viper people
The guys from Yarram were saying that the track has been there since 1948! the last time Irode there was in 82 & it hasnt changed that much.
Its about the best Viper day I have had since starting 5 years ago apart form the two big offs I had.

I got cleaned up at Yarram back in 1998. I just came back from a concussion at the Hallam 2-day and got another one in the practice at the Gippy Centre here.
2 race meetings, 2 helmets. ;D This is why you only wear quality lids, people.
The track looks like it came up awesome. Way better than the goat track I remember it to be.

Had an absolute ball other than an issue with the gear lever which kept bending in hitting the the stator cover resulting in only 1st and 2nd gear able to be used in the 1st and last race. That track was superb. The green team are looking forward to yanakie. Hope Yarram is on the cards for one of the last rounds. The club did a stirling job :-)

Good on you Ross for helping out at Yarram, I know how hard it is to watch when you cant ride. The Maico chuck wagon will be there Saturday arvo, plenty of firewood and the other stuff, hopefully the no's will be better, Yanakie is a great track and holds up well if it rains.
See you there
