Title: Sonic weld BSA goldstar coming to Australia
Post by: steve234 on June 24, 2011, 08:00:16 am
Which Aussie museum bought the Sonic weld BSA goldstar listed on vft.org?

I'd like to see it.

Think I look at it every day ....pretty sad I know  :-\

I struggle with the fact that you can get a well set up modern with rebuilt engine, worked suspenders and aftermarket wheel sets for about $3500-$4000 ride away.

I'm surprised an Australian museum has bought it. I would guess it went for a pretty penny and they would be looking for a return on investment. I wouldn't relate to it at a museum and ogle it :-\, or visit especially to see it. (But some would say 'that's probably my problem' ::)).

Probably a good appreciating asset 'earning it keep' though - more than what my junk pile does :P.

.....but I don't know if I would like to buy a sight unseen and non-test ridden 6yo thrashed modern for $4500, and then pay to import it. That could be 'buying trouble'.
