Im at the point of painting tank and sideplates for my CR125M. The bike is in a 1975 frame so if I was to go with the true to model colours it will need to have red sideplates and tank stripe. I was planning to go with the 74 model green and silver combo until today, now have doubts and I am undecided which way to go. Thought id throw up a pole to see what you guys reckon.

The redback is a much prettier bike, but a greenback is probably a better asset. The fuel tanks are different between the two models, I wouldn't paint it as a greenback unless you have a greenback tank.
Cheers,
K

I noticed the tank shape is not the same BigK. Redback tank is the same as an MT125 just stripe is different. Greenback is a narrower design.

If you have a good picture of a redback model could you please post it here. ;)

Quicksilver,
There is/was a NOS Tahitian red striped 75 model tank being offered on ebay just the other day. It may have ended or is about to. The pic looked pretty good as I recall. I thought $300 was high, but the way things are going, a year from now the value will probably double or triple. It's certainly up to you, but the only thing that would cause me to use the green was if I was running a stock pipe, which was only made for the 74 model.

Thanks to everone that voted.
I painted the sidecovers this morning red cos that was highest vote, tried them on the bike and didnt like at all. :-\ I looked at for hours and still didnt like it. Walked away from for few hours took another look Yukkk. Still dont like it. I will go with the second highest vote of Silver and green combo.
Thank guys.

Take another look before you paint mate. This is Big K's '75. Much prettier in the flesh! This is from his ad in bike point, its clearer on there.
