Dam its cold here this morning when i whent out to feed the calves it looked like it had snowed overnight, I moved to Qld 35 years ago to get away from this. Could be worse though could still be down south where it really is COLD....... ;)
-
just heard on the morning news it was the coldest overnight temperature for Brisbane this year, I suspect it was the coldest for a few years.
-
funny really, i'm in Brisbane and i thought this morning was pretty good...
-
It cracks me up when the Sydney weather forecasters talk about how its going to be a "chilly seven degrees overnight" and the next day's forecast for home predicts a maximum of five degrees...
Your perception of what's cold changes so easily. Being cold during winter doesn't worry me anymore, but the short days schit me to tears.

Woohoo ... bring on the snow I say ... we'll be in Perisher for our annual pilgrimage at the end of July and there had better be heaps of it by then :D ;D

Cold enough to freeze the walls off a grass humpy, you can blame Jack Hogg on the PA at Mt Ginn for that saying, snowed here at the River this arvo , hasn't done that for years, must be global warming.

Sorry Mate I was just taking the Piss .
Yep I remember some of it like the 74 floods.
I remember the hottest and the coldest days in recorded history.
I remember the reef being destroyed in the 74 floods , what a sad day that was . :'(
I even remember the drama surrounding the "OZONE HOLE ".
Thank heaven that,s closed up because it was going to burn us to death. :o :o
I remember the quality and price of the drugs .
And back then all the shelas were young and fun. ;D

Ballard still han't pulled this 74.5 400 off the trailer since getting home from CD8.
Now it's frozen to the rails.
(She never ran at Conondale. Did one spluttering, chaff-cutting lap on the scramble track,
then parked it for weekend.)
Then Chippie allowed me a ride on his 74.5 Maico 250 ... which buzzed like an Elsinore!
Thanks Chippie!

Here is one for your fantastic trip your having..Im totally jealous :P
It's late fall and the Indians on a remote reservation in North Dakota asked their new chief if the coming winter was going to be cold or mild.
Since he was a chief in a modern society, he had never been taught the old secrets. When he looked at the sky, he couldn't tell what the winter was going to be like.
Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he told his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect firewood to be prepared.
But, being a practical leader, after several days, he got an idea. He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked, 'Is the coming winter going to be cold?'
'It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold,' the meteorologist at the weather service responded.
So the chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more firewood in order to be prepared.
A week later, he called the National Weather Service again. 'Does it still look like it is going to be a very cold winter?'
'Yes,' the man at National Weather Service again replied, 'it's going to be a very cold winter.'
The chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of firewood they could find.
Two weeks later, the chief called the National Weather Service again. 'Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?'
'Absolutely,' the man replied. 'It's looking more and more like it is going to be one of the coldest winters we've ever seen.'
'How can you be so sure?' the chief asked.
The weatherman replied, 'The Indians are collecting a shitload of firewood'

yes farther north would be the answer, where you throw on a pair of thongs to warm up your feet, cant believe that i used to ride every where on my bike in Vic and never worried about the weather wet cold hot snow didn't matter. now i visit friends down south and can,t stand to go outside for the cold. i must be soft cause i feel cold in Qld and complain about it and by 8 or 9 in the morning its 20 deg. I think i need a trip to NZ that will get my perception of cold back on track......... :-\
