Title: Husqvarna WR400 1986 Mikuni jet set up

Hey Guys,

Can anyone tell me the correct carby jetting set up for a round slide 38mm Mikuni for an Husky WR 400 1986.

Hi Col
According to my 86 / WR400 data sheet.

Main Jet -------- 400
Needle Jet ------- Q6
Idling Jet ---------35
Needle position-----4 from top
Air jet -----------2.0
Needle---------6DH3
Airscrew --------1.5 turns out
Throttle --------2.5

I had raced some of these back in the day and the hot tip to get them pulling of the bottom was to file more cut-away into the back of slide ( just 1mm at a time )

That jetting would be a starting point only Col.


Mate is running a 430 main in his 84/ 240 Wr.

Hey Mike,

Tom Hatrick of Mikunioz sent down these spec :
I gather this is a 2 stroke in which case I'd expect the VM38 to run (1982 spec) with a 45 pilot, 6DH3, R4 and a 450 main.

I am getting the carby sorted out by someone in the know and that has heaps of Husqvarna knowlage.
