Title: husky forks banging when topping out. why?

82 cr husky forks when extended (topping)make a bad metal to metal sound. why? thanks.

The nylon piston rings on the damper rods wear out and cause the forks to rebound too fast and then top out. You need to regularly replace those piston rings.

What weight fork oil are you using? Lighter oils will cause this top out clunk to be more pronounced. It relies on clearances between the damper rod and orifice to hydraulic cushion the forks at max extension.
