Title: mx 250 cdi
Post by: Freakshow on May 23, 2011, 11:43:59 pm
can someone tell me if there is any differances in the cdi boxes ?

I just traced a fault on the yz to the cdi box and if i look at my other bikes they looks to be the same as the MX250 -360 and the yz 125 ( sc500 was the same and sparked but was missing a wire 3was a 2..... between the lot of the 74-75 stuff only the last 3 numbers stamped on the case changed.    Ie  TIA01-06- #401, #807 etc

SO question is are they the same,
will they work the same and.......
are they safe to interchange ( dont really want to blow up a good working one ?

or do they have to match the stator ?

hi
if you guys buy the mx supliment for the mx250/360 sc500. it tells you what is compatible with what and the wire colours and ohms readings for what is good and what is dead.gave mine away with the mx250a i sold.all i know sc500 boxes have less wires than the 250/360.most people i know just junked the whole lot and fitted dt400/it400 cdi or pvl

YEp it seem all the 125 250 and 360 YZ are the same ( well 125 to the c)

i fired this up on a Sc500 box so i know it will run on a 500 but id like to put the right one back on.  from what i can tell they are all the same but........ wanted to ask

Ianyz if you look at the stator there is a number on the bottom like M100 16 401.  you then match that top the same rotor that says M100 401 and also the hatachi box will go TiA06 ##  401  so its easy to match up a complete unit.

I was more interested in can you swap them around and if so what are the risks if any ( like blowing another CDi)
i have PVl on all my other bikes but this one was runnign fine so a cheap CDi will fix it, till i fall over another cheap PVL, beshides i have lotsa stators just runnigout of cdi's.
