Suzuki central ....I need a bit of help with this one , I seem to have too much side play between the inner tube and outer tube ( 75 thou to be exact ) this was measured at the fork cap (with the outer in the vice and a dial indicator used at the cap ), to me it is too much .
Having pulled many RM forks apart they seem to have a wear bush that can be replaced below the oil seal , there is no such thing on Tms
Is there a fix or are the outer tubes worn out ??????

Yes you can maschine a DU bush into it .

Walter where would one obtain the said bush ...35mm id
-
You go to a bearing place and ask for a DU bush ID 35 x2 x 12

Oldfart, when do you buy a lathe? ;D Since ya pretty busy I'd reckon you'll need an operator too! I'm available..will need to be trained first but I can practice on some 35mm TM250 legs :P sometimes I really do wish I had even a small hobby lathe :-\
Walter, that is a great tip. Lots of people 'like me' don't know of the existance of such DU bushes and little things like this can save a whole lot of stress when problems arise. I'd have been thinking of hunting replacement outers or running 36mm inners. I've now got the good oil locked away in my very random accessed memory for future reference. Cheers!

Ah yes ...good neighbour across the road is an engineer -has a lathe plus mill gathering bust in hobby shed but won't part with- but more that welcome to use basis
Du bushes obtained at Surplus bearings Greedy me bought the lot all 6 of at $5-00 each ;) 35x2x12( 39 0D)

Doc Bring your tubes down and we will learn from your mistakes :) maybe we should have it right by my turn , thats why I bought spares ;D
Looking at buying a hobby lathe this year , million and one uses and bloody handy to make those odd bits required to keep the old girls going.
