The current tyre on the TS is marginal so I'm after a tyre to get me on the track come March 2nd. Does anyone have anything suitable for not much??? :-[
This really is my budget bike as I'm putting my cash into my PE250 resto but that will take a while. ::)
I know a courier that can pick up for me if located on or near the Hume between Melb, Canberra, Syd or Brissy. I'm in Canberra. Any help/ideas/contacts appreciated.
Cheers,
Greg.

what sort of pattern you want? an original square/block type yokahama or a knobbly?
theres a place in QLD? that advertises in just bikes magazine and they are called Logan distributors. they sell really cheap tyres and have package deals at real good prices. eg 2 tyres, tubes and a o-ring chain for $150 or something crazy liek that.

Am after a dual purpose or trials sort or square block...not a knobby...it's for dirt track so can't have knobbies on the rear.
Yeh I have seem Logans and can get tyres and chain i think for $99 or soemthing but really just need the rear tyre right now and am trying to contain costs.... :-[

...and they don't have pairs of trials unis - only rears for $70, which seemed a bit rude when the whole package was only $99.
MBoddy has a spare old trails uni that he offered to me yesterday. Can't recall if it was 3.50 or 4.00 - Musta been a 3.50 'cause I woulda grabbed it if it was a 4.00.
(WTB: Road legal 4.00x18 trails universal).

I have a MITAS competition trials rear tyre which I've heard are pretty popular for DT. I bought it thinking it might be good for Trials but I practice rode with it on for 10 minutes and then took it off and it has sat in the dark in my shed since. It's about 3 years old.
You can have it for $40 but I live in Gladstone and only come South a few times a year.

This aint lookin good.......... :-[

Greg, try the local trials club. The Michelin/Dunlop rears are perfect for DT, and are really good after they've worn down. But worn tyres are no good for the trials guys so you can often score their cast-offs cheap. Here's some contact details (note the website doesn't work for me...)

i just got 2 of EBAy for $10.50, and thanks to Tank slapper who collected them.
KEep an eye out on the bay and your local bike shops, most original Trail wings, off the Yammie Wr's come off after about 5ooKm and youll find them outside in the tyre pile for free, cant get sheaper than that and the pattern is dirt legal :O)

Ok so no go at the Trials club or at Aksels or another dealer (both after $120-180) for a tyre. Hmmm.
Looks like evil bay and keep looking!!!!! :-\
