I would REALLY like to have one of those thankyou very much! Great pic Slides.
Wonder which bike would be the quickest on a longtrack, an American Flatracker or a Godden Longtracker? regards  Mark.

An XR750 Harley I think is the clear answer to that question.

Not sure about any video, but there's some stills around of Watto on it at Tamworth or Muswellbrook . I'll have a yarn to Fotohound and see what he can come up with.

Yeah Baby.
My money is on that with Chris on board.
Check out the droop on the footrest, would it be legal if I put something similar ( not 1/2 as long ) on my DR500 Dirt Tracker for EVO & pre 85?
I can't get my body around Sliding a bike with my right leg tucked up.

Ola the v twin went into production  early to mid '80's i think?? In there somewhere any way :) matcho mick posted on vintage track pge. 11 mar. 2009 subject,.. longtrack some info on the big twin.and a couple of pics. S'pose Watto would be the one to ask about a comparison.   mark.

Without trying to hijack your topic Foss or get too techo.
That footrest obviosly swings up, but do they also have to fold back?
We've gone from Daves Beeza to Daves Godden to Vee Twin Godden to Harley Flatracker to Footrests without upsetting anyone.
Are us Dirt Trackers setting an example ;D

Hey, Slides
Mate,  as long as it's about Dirt Track , Long Track , Speedway, two or three wheels, I don't care what subject we spin off to.
Ya footrest ,
On me Elstar I did make me swinging footrest fold as well as swing , cos I used to clout  the right hander at Griffith when it didnt fold !!
So, a little bit of shed engineering and away ya go !!

We shouldn't forget MrBSA USA, the Dick Mann.
Looks like he might have had a sit down at this meeting.
Best real name in motorcycle racing, worldwide, without doubt.
I'm sure we've all thought of ourselves as Dick Man at least once?

Dick Mann's biography, Mann of His Time by Ed Youngblood, is a riveting read, not only about the battles Dick went through to go racing and his amazing race record, but also his influence on the subsequent politics and administration of AMA and AHRMA racing, the impact of which continues to this day. An undervalued but outstanding star and ambassador for the sport. ;)

G'day Jim, hope the holiday is going well.
When you meet Dick make sure you tell him how popular he is in OZ and how we'd love to see him out here at one of our events.
Maybe for the Classic DT Titles at Nepean next year?  ;D :D ;)

Jim will probably kill me for posting this,

But the big fella's been in contact with Dick, one way or another, for a while and got him to sign this pic of Jim on my TT slider at nepean when Jim owned it, I must admit I'm glad to have it back and I'm gunna take it to Canberra on a practice day,

It would be cool to see Dick at Nepean, however we probably would have to find a BSA twin for him to do a demo on, wouldn't that be grouse ??

I would love to be there Wally but with Bris only a week later, I don't want to take the risk of my trip north being scuttled at the last minute.
I'll admit that sounds soft, but I've been planning for this for a while and working 7 days a week for the past month so I can take some, Me time.
I reckon we should work on getting Mr Mann out here for an event, any event, how cool would that be.
