Has anyone ever replaced the combined main seal/wiper seal in the old 70's 76F Koni shocks or have a source for them? They are not what you would call a normal or standard seal. Just wondering if anyone has a solution that doesn't involve changing shaft sizes or making new seal caps. Im sure someone has been down this route already before so i thought i would ask here. Im checking with Ikon but im 90% sure they wont have anything.

Yes...some many years ago I bought 20 seals from Proven Products.... they don't have any in stock anymore..when I approached them years later for some more, they suggested that I replace the threaded cap that holds the seal with a later one from , say, what is now used on an IKON shock, which has a "standard" garter type seal

I reckon the shaft size has changed now though. I think the 7610 are 12mm and the 76F are 11.70mm?. I would have to double check though as have a set of both . I suppose i could upgrade the cap and shaft if thats all it will take. I will see what they say tomorrow.

Ive got a pair of 76F's which could use some new seals. Shafts are 11.7mm. I'm looking at modifying the seal nut to use a standard type seal. I spoke to IKON a long time ago and they had no seals. They're a great old shock and worth trying to save. I like that the dampening is adjustable, even tho' the spring has to be removed to do so.
