Ad # 3172679   April 30, 2011
1974 Yamaha YZ360A. New PVL ignition. Frame number predates the production line. No numbers on the engine case. Showa forks, original Yamaha shocks with no leaks. Pipe is not stock, has a very fine crack which should be a quick weld repair. Tires have decent tread, with Metzler on the rear. Tank has been cream coated, with new OEM Yamaha petcock. $4500

something is fishy...why would you have an A model YZ and have those forks..??

yer thought the same thing when i saw the ad.

like cr forks ? the bit about no  engine numbers always worries me.  frame number pre dates whats all that about ?  why would you need to creme what should be an aluminuim tank ?
 ill sounds a bit bitsa me, regardless  wouldnt be paying that sort of coin for it

I always thought the standard YZ forks were shit, I can still remember riding in ruts with the bars against my leg and still going straight the flex was so great.

This bike worried me also   I believe it is a 75 motor due to the cylinder head,clutch actuator,mag cover and no #s on cases ,looks as if it is a 75 tank ( large tunnel area) and also 75 MX rims as they had the lip on them by tire. The frame #s are 432-0006  as told to a friend of mine    Non YZ forks (Honda) and who knows what else   The owner didn't seem to be interested in giving many details either   Sounds fishy  still a decent price if it doesn't need anything   He sold it also  !   Tom

Wrong colour also isn't it? Did the A ever come out in the Yamaha USA racing Yellow?

When all said and done (im not supporting his misrepresentation ) but i think its a lot of bike for the money . Look past what its supposed to be and its still a nice competitive pre 75 open bike at a reasonable price.

Its a pity hes advertised it as a true 360A as its a fuse for the worlds anoraks to rip it to bits  ::) Its disappointing that he wont answer questions  though as that adds fuel to the fire .

I cant see much of a problem though , the price reflects what it is a very nice pre 75 open Yamaha hybrid  :)
