So trainspotters, Im guessing the Oval case in 1969 was a 360 ??? so is the 400 then considered as pre 70 class as a flow on model ( assume the bottom end etc is the same ) but with a larger bore in the 69 same barrell ? or not ???
-
400 came out in 1969......quite different internally to the 360.....rod / flywheels etc... yes flow on as all the same up until 1972 ...so...even a 1971 model 400 4 speed is OK for pre 70....

there's your answer duanne. JUst in discussion with Graeme as to are we are going to open up' riding up' across the board next week. So yes i'll add your Xtra class next week.

Is that my 400 Husky? 8)

I have no idea john ? Duanne entered it for pre 75, but wants to run it pre 70 so just checking from someone that knows before we go down that path. and open any gates flood or other.

Oh..a little off / on topic..."riding up" is OK except in the pre 78 class.....so you can ride your pre 65 bike in pre 70 and also pre 75 but no bikes other than the 75-77 models can ride in pre 78.... pre 78 is designed to display the first generation of long travel bikes..nothing else...
-
I already knew the answer Freakshow as it states it in the GCR's. But thanks for checkin it out.

NO probs.
What CMX is trying to avoid is people entering a single bike in 10 classes and turning it into period-era disarster :-[
i got no issue with a genuine pre 70 bike also runing in pre 75, that way you also pick up the age class rides as well
400 Needs to be in those original frames too, not the motor fitted into a later one ;)
already had one peanut try to enter a pre 75 bike in pre 70, evo, pre 85 and pre 78. i have asked him to go away, read the classes and think about it. Some classes are a certain no, others might come down to 18.4, 18.5 in the supps to sort that out.
there has got to be a point where its just stupid, and stroking there own ego to try and ride a bike out of era and it does nothing for the integrety of the event. As a spectator id feel jipped for sure.
