Post by: maxvmx on April 26, 2011, 05:44:06 pm
Hi all, Does anybody know if anyone is manufacturing reproduction PE T/X rear mudguards at the moment?

DC plastics and Vintage Suzuki  do them,i have DC and pretty happy with it apart from the yellow shade being a little off but it does the job for a rider in my opinion and the shape looks good too.
Check it out on my PE post

My experience with DC has always been absolutely superb workmanship in every way - marred by the wrong colour.
They are usually a little too bright compared to the period NOS items. If you can buy an entire set from them, you are set. If you are trying to mix, they tend to stick out.

Totally agree with you Luke.
I bought the whole set  and happy with the fit etc....but the tank is darker which is normal with age and fuel and it does stick out.
Still happy though.
Cheers...Mario

Why not VMX........

With GST you pay a little more but you'll save on postage ;). What they haven't got in stock they probably can get ;).

I would say no - because they appear to have that sock-in-the-eye too bright look of.. DC plastics.

Their colour certainly looks like they have put in the effort to match up. Nice.

I'm 99% sure Motoduro retails DC plastics. It's the one and the same. Any variation with the colour is probably a trick of light and the camera.

I don't know about that. Motoduro do one off colours. Nick just did a set of KX sidepanels in yellow for me to go on my Mann frame. He doesn't change his prices which would be pretty difficult to do with a varying exchange rate. His Suzuki yellow is not overbright.

I think Vintage suzuki and DC plastics have them as well, plus some US stores.
I'll need them for my 250T very soon but haven't decided which ones yet  ::)

This DS/RS tail light which is still avaialable

$34 from alpha-sports though

I bought 12 for $5 each from memory of NOS blinkers from an Australian ebay seller last year 2009. Frosty bought some too. I am trying to find their contact detail, but i have a feeling i threw out the invoice and business card 2 weeks ago. The seller was a bike shop selling stuff on ebay and they had tonnes of NOS PE blinkers. I am trying to find the details for you.

Well you might be in luck i looked up my PP history and found the invoice from 2009

They came from Dubbo Motorcycle wreckers on ebay

They were listed as suzuki 6v flashers. They had heaps so they may have some left.

If you cant get those you can get aftermarket TT or XR blinkers that are pretty small.

No sure about the PE rubber flap but there was discussion on the Yahoo PE forum about it a few weeks back. I think someone was going to try do it.

Leith, they were closing down I bought all the indicators they had left maybe down the track I will sell some when I have finished my projects.

Although I sent 1 or 2 to Ron Anchak and he was going to try and reproduce them. ;)

I haven't made any progress on this project too many projects and not enough time or money for all of them, but I might have found someone who can make the rubber housing part.

That would be good if you could even get the rubber housing then you can reuse old ones and they will look new they tend to split alot when you get old ones because they get perished like any rubber part.

I sent some indicators to R Anchak but he is busy doing other parts I am sure he will get on to them I have some good PE400 airbox to carb boots I hope to get done I think someone said you can still get them but I think that is only the 250 and I would love a nos 400 one for my Z or a repro one.

I am making my own thermoformer I will be trying to make a few plastic parts very soon I have a heap of nos indicators but they are for my bikes so I might have some to help you out though if you are ok with some old ones. :)
