Title: Tyres
Post by: nada on April 22, 2011, 08:26:16 pm
Hi All,

I have to fit my new pride and joy out with a new set of boots and in the past i have lent towards Bridgestone S12's front and rear.

But it has been a while, and i was wondering if there was anything else out there that compares to these?

your opinions please?

Ride Red.

Michelin S12's and the Dunlop Geomax MX51's are both great tyres. I use the S12's on the front and the Dunlops on the rear.

oh shit sorry, yes your right Michelin S12 (Not Bridgestone) my mistake, feel a bit like a fool :-[

they are still the best, the only problem i have is they don't last very long being a soft compound :( i chew through them pretty quickly:(

I use a m12 on the front and a s12 on the rear I found s12 fronts a little skatey on hard surfaces and I get them from Rocky Mountain ATV $60 a tyre last time I bought two tyres, tubes, rim locks and other stuff postage was $65.

Wow I've never paid more than $135 for a rear s12 rear fitted. The ones I get are from the US that's why their cheap but you have to put them your self (good practice ).

Ive been checking out rocky mountains site and in the international shipping page their stating that no heavy or bulky items (including tyre's ?)can be shipped internationaly maybe they've changed their policy ?  if so bummer! :-\

I agree 100%.

Nada, you've been getting ripped at those prices. Even compared to Canberra (where the shops have their own special Canberra Tax), you're still paying about $30 too much for each tyre.

Torpedo7 is Australian, and often have specials on tyres.
Sutto's has been threatening to do super-specials, but don't know if they've come good yet.
RMATV will ship tyres, regardless of any policy statements.  ;) Just go ahead and order them, and they'll send them.

the original S12 was totally revamped about 18 months ago to the S12XC , looks the same but very different carcass , now work well on firmer gound as well as soft and last a lot longer , a perfect tire here in NZ
If you ride on harder terrain try the M12XC's
