Hi Guys,
I have a couple of YZ shocks for YZ 250, 125 that are in good condition apart from a bit of rubbing (one even leaks oil) on the hose between the shock and the reservoir. As I'm sure you know the end that goes to the shock screws in. The end on the reservoir is a pressed fitting. Can the hose be replaced or do i need to get a whole new reservoir ?? If so where would I get such an animal. Come in YSS ::)
Should have bought the NOS one Adam had on Ebay a while ago :-\
Thanks in advance for you help - always appreciated.

How many do you need ? 08 82848033

Sorry - should have included these for clarity the first time around

This is the tricky bit

I can see now , but that is not a problem , give me lenght of the hose , I may have some second hand ones, if not , we make a new cap and drill a M 10 x 1 into it and make a new hose.
-
Not sure what you mean Walter. Would you have second hand reservior with a hose on it??
If I had to go for a new reservior I would go for something trick. You got anything like that ?
-
The end cap bit in the resevoir is seperate to the body of the resevoir. It comes out the same was as the seal head comes out of the shock (press it in, remove the snap ring and it'll slide out - only do this after you've let the gas out...).
Then it'd be easy to put it in a lathe and remove the hose fitting from the end cap and then tap a new hole to take generic hydraulic fittings.

Do you want Hi Low speed ? You can have . But I still have some OEM Yam shocks with hoses on it . just let me know the lenght.

Walter how many clams are we talkin for the hi / low resivoir and have you got dimensions? Also if I understand this correctly if we fit this resivoir onto the old mono shock we would have high low speed compression damping adjustments?? ::)
-
The cost for a Hi -low set up ( reservoir , nitro cap , housing , low speed clicker mechanism , high speed mechanism ) is $450.00. Its not cheap , but that will be the brain of the shock .
Dimensions are depending on model of bike . I would also change the piston at the same time , so everything can work together in Harmony.
-
Would that be considered cheating in EVO class ??
What about a standard version - would you just go back to the old OEM ??
Sorry I am new to this stuff ::)

There is no rule against it . Fox played with a high lowspeed system in 1981 .

Thanks Walter, yes it is very expensive, i was also looking at an Ohlins unit from USA ($1000 aus) excluding the shipping so thats outa the question too, shit its not a poor mans sport is it? or even a middle class mans sport., anyway here's a picky of the ohlins .

Tony your pic only shows a shock with out high - low speed , Always compare apples with apples. Our equivilant would come down very quick in price with just a single clicker as shown in your pic.
