Title: Can we leave the lights on tonight Honey?
Post by: Captain Bilko on April 01, 2011, 07:57:02 pm
For years I dreamed about how good it'd be to have a video camera in the lense of your goggles. Like all good dreams (that three legged Nun springs to mind. Coooorr) I thought it would never come to fruition however today I spotted these in my favorite bike shop.

I don't know all the sci-fi techno bullshit about gigs an' stuff but in their stock trim apparently you can get an hour and twenty minutes worth of fantastic, non bouncy footage. They even come with tear-offs.
Quite simply
Fuggin grouse! ;D

Jim and myself will be doing some hot laps of Monza this Sunday so they'll get their first workout there then Bluerock the following week......

I saw those on Gizzo - pretty neat I thought, except for the price ::).

I look forward to see the Monty and Master carve up the field. ;D

I saw a pair of those in a bike shop today, they had footage from the camera playing. Looked quite good.
I usually find with goggles the first part to go is the foam.

I've just got a pair of SMITH goggles for over glasses use. They have a little extraction fan installed and it copes with the heat and humidity up here in Darwin. They were supplied complete with rolloffs for about $115 delivered.

Any report on how the googles and camera performed?
Would like to know.

Thanks

Why would anybody bother reading instructions.......?

After 20 odd laps of eating dirt following Jims 430 Husky (thinking "I've got some grouse footage here") I raced home to find that I had absolutely no footage whats-so-ever but I did have about five hundred still images of:
My front guard
My gorgeous face
30 odd pics of my not so gorgeous left nostril
A coupla' hundred of the sky/ground and
One of Jims back guard.

I do however know where I stuffed up and all should be good for Bluerock next weekend.

I can say that at first I thought the lense part a bit obtruesive however once you take off they're like wearing any other set of goggles....

I would also like to take the opportunity say there's nothing worse than pestering a guy to get into something like Viper, spend weeks helping them however you can to get their bike up-and-running and on their first outing on the thing they start smoking you straight away......... ???
