Title: CR250 79/80 stator windings interchangeable?

your best to match the coil with the stator , version A,B,C,D,E, 78/79 and the plain no marking 80 version are interchangable without problems if you do that.

I have used the winding complete from the A stator cover on a E cover with no problems.
The covers are the main thing in the honda book for a 79 model it lists all the omhs reading for all covers
and they are all the same. The main thing is to use the cover that has the same number as the cdi box.

Thanks for the info, a 1980 stator & cover was on oz flea bay, i forgot the end time & didnt bid,sold for 10 friggin bucks :'( I have 2 79 bikes but only one stator, thats why i was asking
