Can anyone give me the dia. of fork tubes at top and bottom triple clamp area..or are they both 54 mm ?

Top and Bottom as well?
Where they a good fork by 1989? I'm considering a set as an upgrade from '89 Honda Showas.

I have heard paul rooney (still) modifies the dampers to give a more supple ride. Apparently standard they are good for big hits but harsh on the small stuff.. so I hear..And the axle clamp always breaks
