Engine number RM125-206343 is it 1982 or 1983?

My books tell me that 82 was the last year that Suzuki used RM125 as a prefix to an engine number. eg RM125-123456
From 83 onwards the engine number started with a letter then three numbers, eg; F106-123456

Thanks Rod, I thought so too, but couldn't lay my hands on my book!

Interesting I've noticed my 83 model starts with RM125... Maybe it has an 82 motor, or at least case from an 82 on it.

The 82 motor will go in the 83 and vice versa but the centre cases are different- only because the cranks are a different size.
