Hey guys... I am building up an 83 KX250 C1, and have a question...
The frame number seems pretty low... reads KX250-000082 to be precise.
The question is: Would this make this bike special in any way? Maybe a pro racebike in its day? Or is it just simply an early run off the prod-line and nothing more than that?
It's a bit of a shame it isn't build number 83, but it would have been made in 82 so that's kinda cool I spose... lol
Any thoughts on serial numbers?
???

I'de be happy knowing it wasn't one of the first few they made while they sorted out the assembly bugs.

Hi Hardo - it likely means it was the 82nd bike of the production run, considering they made about 2700 KX250's in 83, that is pretty early in the line run. Often the first twenty or so bikes off the line go to the magazines for pre-testing, editorials and PR shots and are used by the Engineering Evaluation team to make sure the thing works as it should. Unlikely it is different to most other 83 KX250's - if it was a works bike, particularly Kawasaki, it would have completely different frame numbers to the production bikes.

Yeah fair enough then.... just thought I'd throw the question out there. Never noticed such a low frame number before. :)
