Title: 1983 Honda CR250RD question(s)
Post by: Woody on February 02, 2008, 10:52:01 pm
looks like my RD has lost its airbox cover (lid) and drain tube rubber.
thought I best rig up a temporary makeshift cover to keep the gremlins out but it's a bit hard to see where and how big the air intake is and what they actually look like from the parts fiche pic (7 & 11).
greatly appreciate it if someone could email me some pics next time their servicing the filter or have any suggestions
thanks
Woody

You generally only used the lid for wet conditions for a bit more protection from water getting in . Not used in normal conditions.

as 090 said. i have had an 86' 250 for 20+ years and NEVER used the lid even on the westest days (because i always left it at home in the garage).

my take is you will never need it.

just get on it and ride it WOODY, you are reading too much I have done all the work to make it a race winning bike. you only have two weeks before Canberra's first round.
see you on the 17th you will have fun plus racing is the best practice anyway
