Its a shame that people let them get to that state, don`t these people know that greese or oil smerd over the bike will slow down the rust

At times when I have found bikes in sheds as I walk over for that first look I hope the fork seal are blown Interesting bike Firko do you know much about them?

That would a cool bike restored 8). All the mechanical bits are still fairly available and the rest look which much all there.
And provided you use period sensitive mudguard who's to argue ;D.

125 SARACEN

The125c Saracen bikes on which riders did well in motocross in the early 70s, were also used for trials and enduros with some minimal modifications, such as gearing. For some reason they never caught on. Possibly because they used a Sachs engine, which had a whole bunch of extra neutrals in the gearbox. The bike was very light, reliable and had plenty of power, but there wouldn't have been more than a handful of dealers in the US. By the mid-70s, they were effectively gone from the dirt bike scene.

Nice bike... if it had a diff engine. I tho't they only made trials & enduro versions.
Never seenthe 125 Sachs engine in a single downtube frame before.

Reading between the lines on the Swapmeet this morning it'd appear that Mark Holloway himself has bought the Saracen for his 125 collection. I thought he'd grab it.

I need a bike transported out of Florida to the west coast. One possible scenario is get the bike to Diamond Dons in April and from there back to the west coast. Anyone going that way have room for a vintage 125?
Thanks, Mark

Just what he needs. It'd be a good addition to his collection.

Bit of work there, not beyond him though.Interesting just how many brands utilized the Sachs engine.
