I am trying to source a or a pair of 18 inch aluminium for my vintage supermoto.
Need to be 2.5 inches or wider, 36 holes, aluminium and in good condition.
The rim needs to be from a wheel with a drum style hub such as early 80s
model RMs, PEs, Drs etc. This is essential (as i have just discovered) the spoke angles
in modern rims are not compatible, that is the angle is not quite right.
Check out my "vintage supermoto" thread for the full story.

I think in the long run you will be better with new than tying to find a decent used one. Old suzuki takasagos were pretty crap, epecially fronts.
try http://www.spoked-wheels-brisbane.com.au/ or http://www.buchananspokes.net/ or http://www.central-wheel.co.uk/
Theres a bit more to it than getting a rim from 'just any drum brake wheel' also
either of those 3 websites above can custom drill you new rims to suit your drum hubs, with the proper spoke angles and holes sizes. I have used all 3 before. It also may not be as expensive as you think, especially if you go with the more budget 'SM Pro' rims
You can also pick up cheap brand new alloy rims on ebay for some old PE's, Dr's, Ts's etc. Im pretty sure they are just made in hong kong or some place but i think if you dont plan going road racing or doing supercross style jumps you should be pretty right. Ive used some cheaper mud catcher rims for a Norton commando and they were totally fine in quality and good price too. i think they came from Singapore or Thailand.
