Title: Gooday from California (C&J XR500 + XR500R)

Hi there,

this is the place where I have found the most info and interest for the C&J XR500. Since I am building 2 of them, I thought I would join and mingle.
I also have 2 1981 XR500R, one complete stock, bought new when I was a young (and then in debt...) lad and one nicely tricked.

My plan with the C&J projects is to build a replica of the Mugen White Machine, for laughs and another "dual purpose" as they say here. I plan to enter a desert race to shake my old bones. One of the C&J frames is "very old" (dixit Jeff Cole) and the other Jeff just built.

I am eager to get pictures of other C&J XR500 (air filter, fitting the tank) and info on Mugen parts. I got lucky to get a brand new Al Baker Mugen megaphone muffler but the rest of the Mugen Baja Commander kit is proving elusive.

Very cool I might go up the shed now and get some photos of my xr500 it is pretty original except headlight and some one has welded buddy pegs to the front foot pegs I will soon fix that though. ;)

my father had one of these bikes his was a 81 XR500 RB , he had it as a sidecar and rode it for many years here in SA in road trials

Yes, you would have to take a digital photo of your paper photo, or scan it in .jpeg format and then load it here from your computer.

downloaded the pics they were taken in 1984 after competing in the 24hr trial , the outfit had the nick name " THE IRON HORSE "
