We can finally announce that Round 1 of the NSW pre’90 race season will be held on April 3 at Dargle. It has been a long time since classic MX riders have had the chance to compete at Dargle so this is sure to be a huge event.
Numbers will be strictly limited so make sure you let me know as soon as possible if you wish to ride. The event will be a Grass Track and open to riders of EVO, Pre ’85 and Pre ’90 bikes only. Juniors will also be well catered for on their own track.
We need some helpers for track set up on Saturday the 2nd of April. If you can spare a couple of hours to assist in laying out the tracks that would be great.
I will be posting full details and entry form very soon but I thought I should let you know now so that you can put it in your diary.
Cheers

well done !

Thanks Hoony.
We have generated a group of pretty enthusiastic guy's here in NSW. Once we get our series under way maybe we can talk seriously about putting together an interstate challenge for Pre '90's. Maybe even a tri-state challenge with the banana benders as well ;D
Cheers

i can appreciate the effort to get it underway. good to see.
its a great era of innovation regardless of the Nay Sayers. I like all eras of mx , but this one was MY most successful era of racing, hence the passion.

Finally, this shit Labour lead state falls into line with other states. Well as far as vintage MX is concerned that is.
A big thank you to those involved in making this happen :-*, can't wait to be involved in the very first pre90
meeting in NSW. Now I'm a believer ;D.
Hey will that fellow with the 20k YZ465 be there ??? I hope so. Can't wait to rub some paint off that thing :D
I'll be there Saturday with some mates, what time and a BIG thanks once again :-*.
GEORGE

Good to hear you'll be on board George.
I'll post full details up here soon regarding times/costs etc.
By the way it's a "shit Labour lead state" for only a short time longer. Remember Vote 1 The Fat Homo Party ;D ;D ;D

Sorry mate but the Sugar name came from an old friend.
I've changed my user name a couple of times over the years because I like change. The new name refers to my new race number as well as in support of (I hope) the 2011 Moto GP World Champ ;D ;D ;D
By the way GEORGE (if that is your real name) thanks for the offer of help. Are you and your mates riding at Dargle as well?
Cheers

-
G'day Mr Turtle
Just waiting to confirm a couple of details with the host club and then I will be sending entry forms out to our mailing list. Memberships will be sorted when you register for our race series.
Address for Dargle is River Road, Lower Portland. Here is the map from their website http://www.dargle.com.au/maps.htm
and here is the whereis map http://www.whereis.com/nsw/lower-portland/river-rd

This will be a good venue for the Maico as it is located in a valley. Plenty of hills to get the big girl rolling down for the obligatory clutch start ;D ;D ;D Can we expect to see any of your Novocastrian partners in crime joining us as well?
Cheers

Shaun,
Thinking about coming down for the day if I can get a leave pass. Any idea on what time it will kick off on Sunday as I would drive down on Sunday morning? I haven't ridden at Dargle since the mid 90's but last time I was there, it was a blast. Do you know yet how the classes will be structured?
Cheers
Dan

G'day Dan
As it is early days for our club and we are a guest of the host club there will only be one all in race for Pre '90 bikes. I will separate the class point scores from within that race. The club usually runs 4 rounds of racing so we should enjoy plenty of track time.
Being the first event it is hard to say if we will have an over subscribed grid however at this stage I have received expressions of interest from around twenty riders so we are getting to half full. This is why I've got to stress that it will be a first come first served basis for entries.
I'll put you on the list as a definite maybe mate ;D
Cheers

That would be good, thanks for that.
Turtle,
You looking at doing it in a day trip? Ricki may be up for the day as well.
Cheers

That is just lovely Shaun, may I say tho I only had to clutch the 490 once on the weekend (and no It did not break down for the day after that):P Am i on the mailing list as have not been to a meeting but would like to be and I would hope that there would be a few Novacastrians coming along, 20 bikes is a good start though, ya gotta be happy at that in the early stages
Give usa ring at work Dan, its impossible to keep up with your mobile ph #s, though you change jobs more than ph no.s What about ya mate up the road (Paul) about time he got one of his show ponies dirty instaed of sticking them in magazines
