I had one back in the day I still have fond memories of it. I used to fish tail altot.
-
mate, that is looking real nice. Looks like you have pretty good plastics as it is. There is not a great deal of choice for aftermarket side covers, basically Maier or DC, but there is a guy in the Netherlands offering reproduction covers. I dont know if he is re-selling the brands I have mentioned or making his own. All that I have seen are drill it yourself jobs, and rarely fit without some degree of heating and bending to match the mounts and achieve the right clearance. You certainly have been busy since I saw your last post, have you fired her up yet?
-
Very nice how did you get your tank so white?
-
its a beaut, i too had one and have fond memories of it as the Bike that improved my riding and i had some good success on it too.
really nice resto, you should be proud. its a model that is not seen in pre 85.
-
Very very nice! excellent job!
-
Wow, thats nice. I have nearly finished mine also, although im racing mine so bit restricted in the level of Resto. Lots of good Yammies being done now which is good. Are you taking it to Broadford at Easter?

I was also a YZ250J owner and Looking at that beautifully restored bike also brings back some great memories, however the one bitter memory I have was when I woke up one morning and went out to find that some low life had stolen it out of the garage.
Never to be seen again.

in 82' the field was full of YZ250J's, they were a very popular choice along with the Suzuki in that year, Honda and Kawasaki were in the minority that year in the 250 class.

thats a beauty! well done!
-
good job mate.
-
Top job. Love the way you kept it all original with colours and decals etc.
Well done mate.... even though it's a Zinger..... :P
