Title: Airbox-carb boot for MX250A
Post by: cyclegod on January 30, 2008, 12:54:57 pm: Wanted urgently an airbox to carb boot for a Yamaha MX250A 73/74 can anybody help out with NOS/repro/used but servicable?

Post by: Freakshow on January 30, 2008, 07:49:37 pm: I have a brand new Yamaha one in the bag, 365 prefix for the 360, from memory they are differant slightly, but they fit, but i would have to check. im happy to send you it now if you need it urgently and promise to replace it with another NOS (not repro) in the not to distant future if that helps you out, right now.

YOU dont want to use a normal 72mm piece of tube to get it running ? im assuming its a rebuild to spec ?

Someone, maybe Rob was doing them in Au as repro's . also ex uSA i seen them for about $35 Au in the last 6 months.

IF your desperate i could also pull one off one of the 250 show ponies to get you going, but you'd still need to give me back a like for like, thats if it helps you right now, well there all options if you cant wait for one to turn up or you just cant wait ;D

Speed and sport on eBay were doing all the replica stuff but are making new moulds now and won't offer new stuff for sale until spring (April US) The only other place I had a chance was in the U.K but some cashed up twat bought out his entire stock of vintage yam bits last week AARRRGGGGHHHHH....
Rob at 4robs said he would make one if anyone could supply him with a decent one to make a mould from, perhaps you could be persuaded to temporarily supply him with one..PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE ;D ;D

GIVE ME HIS DETAILS OR ASK HIM TO CALL ME 0408843490 AND ILL GET ONE IN THE MAIL, I WOULD PREFER TO SEND A HARD ONE JUST INCASE ? STILL BE FINE FOR WHAT HE NEEDS IT FOR, ALSO PERSUADE HIM TO ADD ABOUT 4MM AS THEY ARE ALWAYS TOO SHORT EVEN NEW.

Post by: mx250 on January 30, 2008, 10:43:11 pm: Not much point sending a harden one Freaky. If its hardened then it has shrunk which is why God's won't fit. Send him the NOS zand to add 5mm both ends ;).

They were always a mongrel to fit even when new ::). 5mm will make them impossible but will allow for aging :)

ill just grab one off the 250s here they must be ok cause they both reach and the clamps just fit :D, they might be stiff but if he adds 5mm hell get prity bloody clost to perfect as whatever size these ones are now they need 5mm then they ll be totally perfect, even better than new size !
