Looks like a good base for a tidy rebuilder there. the swingarm has rear engine mounts kie the YZ. I would say it's off a YZ250 or 400F or possibly G. It also has the later chain guide which came out on the F model YZ's.

Painted - including the fuel tap and 'torque box' bracket.

Hooeee.....I've emerged from by sickbed this morning to find my latest new toy up and on display to the world....even before I see it! It's way better than I ever imagined, knowing what $500 usually buys!
From the photos it looks like it's a pretty unmolested puppy, a nice little barn find. It's a lot better than the IT175L we're currently putting together using it's Kiwi engine.

It's hard to say until I see it in the flesh but I doubt I'll put it through a complete tart up resto, most probably opting to fixing whatever needs fixing mechanically, new tyres and brake shoes, cables, polishing up the plastic and fitting new graphics, and fitting 43mm YZ 465J model forks I've had tucked away just waiting for project just like this.

Thanks for dragging it out of the barn for me Slakewell.....there's a nice cold case of Stella in it for you at the Crash'n'burn/Klub Kevlar Soiree in March.

I just wanted to know why Firko was 'IT'. Whatever IT is?

At least that mystery is cleared up…  ;)

IT = International trials. Only the second best enduro bikes ever build, after Maico's of coarse.
