the tank I intend to use as my "rider tank" I have another dent free tank that I will use for show. I guess I will just "bog" up the dents from the forks, but what about the damage at the neck. If I rebog it will it leak ??

What do you think ??

You would definately weld that just to be safe...it would straighten out aswell...that last photo looks like its bowed out?...is it?....check it on the bike and see if it wobbles around.

Pretty sure the last photo is just the angle it is taken from. The frame is about 10000 kms away so .......
I imagine the whole straightening / welding process is expensive (??) I notice Brad has fixed one for DJ. Do you know anyone that does this kind of stuff ?
Like I said this one doesn't have to be primo, I don't mind if it is bogged, I just don't want it to leak.
Suggestions ??

Tony - check out Geoff Morris - GMC - on the forum. He has done a couple of tanks for me, I thought the price quite reasonable and the job excellent. Pain in the arse having to post a tank to Vic but then that is what happens when he lives so far from civilisation ;D
Is that the YZC tank?
Rossco

You got it Roscoe - YZ250C. I have dealt with Geoff before - excellent product. He needs to start cloning himself ;D ;D ;D

Yes, I think so too.
The bowing out would be from having been presurised in a vain attempt to remove the dents.
Rossco’s tank had the bog lifting. Closer inspection revealed a pin hole so the leaking petrol was lifting the bog. If nothing else you need to test the tank for leaks before doing anything and to do that you need to remove the rest of the bog that’s there.

I have already created a clone. A 15 year experiment and it turns out all it wants to do is sit on it's arse and play computer games

Want to PM me an idea of cost Davey? In the meantime I will remove the old bog. A dremel should do the trick ;)
