It would be interesting to know why the Japanese seem to have had a fixation with the 90cc engine size back then Doc

Pretty sure it was something to do with the schoolboy racing in the US Brent. Japan and the US seemed the main players in this regard. Strangely in the 70's after much petitioning by the local banyo nudgee and northgate residents Brisbane City Council, Nudgee as we know it now opened it's gates in the 70's to motorcycles up to '90cc only'. Of course that rule was never enforced and after a few years it was open slather ;D
