 New wiring, new points, new coil, new condenser, new ign. switch, that should fix the @#$%!&* spark problems that plagued my XT slider at Griffith!

  Also found something new - to me anyway paint on insulation tape! looks the goods.cheers

geezas Pancho,is that insulation tape that you paint on?,or insulation tape with paint on it  ::), :P

The 'paint on' insulation tape is actually a dipping material usually used to insulate tools etc. It is usually expensive and messy. Unless there is a new product out recently.

You can buy self vulcanising insulation tape and also heat shrink insulation tape which are both reasonably priced and very effective. The heat shrink tape is not sticky so is a bit fiddly to put on but once one you use a heat gun and it shrinks down and valcanises together and sticks to the cable.

RS components or Farnells can supply both or possibly JayCar.

Yeah I saw the heat shrink and self vul tape but I like the paint on tape 'cause its good to get into tight spots and you can put on multiple coats to build it up and its di-lectic.
It comes in a yellow tin with a dipped in brush and available in a few colours for coding. I got it at Scotts Auto One in Penrith.
