Title: 83 KX500 Front Number Plate

Has anyone got a heads up as to what aftermarket front no plate (that is still avalaible) that will fit, with slight modifications, to an 83 KX500?
Have gone down the NOS and reproduction but no luck so i need to go the aftermarket route as time is running out.

It depends on how original you want it to look. If you just want a period front plate, there's always a few on eBay in the U.S. and cheap too.
I don't think Nightmare do one. DC Plastic do, but it looks nothing like original. Very modern looking thing.
I've got one off my '84 that I don't plan to use as I want the Maier one. It's not particularly good but it would scrub up ok. Your more than welcome to have it on permanent loan it if it gets you out of trouble for CD5.
The only time I would want it back is if mine is ready to ride and I haven't found the Maier one yet.
Which isn't going to happen any time soon...............  :-\

Bahnsey, maier do one with one cable saver and in a older style type of plate in a square pattern. its not vented though. its in the universal dirt parts section or in the close out section, im not sure. www.maier-mfg.com

Is the Maier item that you are looking for the odd green colored item?
I have a brand new, not out of the package Maier unit but it is a weird color of green?

The nightmare-racing unit looks like a laser cut peice of flat plastic that is missing the mounting system. I'm guessing that it would be a good last minute fallback, even at $35.00 US plus conversion, plus postage, etc, etc,

The Maier item as listed on their website look like the nightmare-racing unit except that it has a mounting boss at the bottom. Again a good fall back, if they can supply, which has been an issue with Maier in the past on these generic items.
