By the way make sure you have all the globes the exact same wattage as originally specified in the manual. If you dont, you will have problems with globes blowing because the system is balanced and theres no regulator.
And make sure you check your earths!
-
Also the switch blocks are worth a check get your multi meter out and have a check I got my 400 going a while ago but it is only 6 volts if your headlight isn't working the globe may not be making a proper contact against the metal of the headlight plenty of wd40 and you need to make sure all connections are making good contact.
Ps got a pic of the bike. ;)

Yeah no one gets out of here without posting a pic of their PE ;D
Michael...are you going to HBBB?

That is very nice hardo, it is good that it still has the original taillight they are very rare even on the 82-84 175's they seem to have all gone missing.
-
That is one ugly tail light :o :o. Oz PE' smust have had different lights to NZ ones. I remember the one on my PEZ 175 floater was a much smaller rubber moulded unit - maybe the same as US models? Anyway a very nice restoration Hardo :) :) I have a soft spot for PE's - owned N, T & Z models myself with bro owning an X. If you can't have a Husky then get a PE ;D ;D ;D
-
French pe's had the taillight like that on more models aus pe's 82-84 had that light the Z's also had that reflector on the bottom of the rear guard. :)
-
Wow, your very lucky to have to have the correct tail light. I was also lucky enough to find one for myself and Frosty plus 2 NOS lenses but i doubt i will find any more. And you have an Answer muffler too...cool.
I would have thought all NZ models 82-84 would have head that tail light too as they pretty much got the same bikes as us, but maybe they didnt? Only other countries that got that tail light are South Africa, Belgium, France and UK and probably a few countries like Finland etc.

Leith NZ PE's certainly didn't get the big tail light. Must have been the ADR rules forcing them onto the Oz models - which NZ didnt follow for registered bikes ..... thank goodness ;D ;D
-
Luke this is not a PE light

From memory Nzud went with the Dr 500 ( USA model ) style tail light.

From memory Nzud went with the Dr 500 ( USA model ) style tail light.
Which is the the same as the 81 PE light. Any markets that didnt have that metal tail light in 82 just stayed with the 81 PE light.

Don't know. I got it from <somewhere> but no longer recall where. My first thought is that it was an NZ bike.
Will ponder it for a few days...
