round one are OK as well. check you frame is for the small bolt or the large bolt as you can only go out in size not in ( so to speak)
have some frames here if you get stuck.

Shane...You don't really need a square swingarm for pre '70.As the RT1 is also legal for pre '70 and that it has a round section swingarm, that cancels out the need for a square swingarm in a DT1 as hypothetically you can fit a 250 engine to an RT1 frame and be legal.
Yet another example of the need for a tidy up of the rulebook mate.

Freaky WTF is a ''large bolt'' and ''small bolt'' and out in size for what ? ???

Round one = round swing arm.
large bolt = dt2 round arm swing arm bolt
small bolt = dt1 square swing arm bolt.
so if his frame was the early square previously he can drill the frame support/swing arm out to take the larger swing bolt and bushs. IF it was the later frame its harder to go back to the smaller bolt unless its bushed or rewelded and drilled to take the smaller swingarm bolt the square one uses.
Im just saying id be using the arm that fits for the frame he has to make life easier.

I get you now but if he wants to use the square swingarm he could do what I did and fit later swingarm bushes to take the larger dia pivot bolt. It's a lot easier.

got ya, but isnt the hole in the frame bigger as well on the later frame for the round arm bolt (whichj is like 2mm bigger or so. the bolt will move in the frame unless its rewelded or shim down to take that smaller diameter, just a thought, so he gets the idea why going one way is easier than the other. one you just drill the frame out with a lager drill - hey presto ! going back the other way involve more work.
just a thought

fatboy , a round swing arm is ok as your frame is a rt1 frame all legal and above board Iainyz
