Title: Cappra 414 clutch plates.
Post by: 414VG on January 29, 2011, 04:13:22 am
Ev'nin all,  does anyone know if the 414's clutch plates are the same as the 348/349 cota ones??
Or can anyone let me know where to get some new ones??

Cheers Sandy

The Cota 348 uses clutch plates #2863.023 (same as the 123 and 247)
Cota 349 uses clutch plates #4463.023 (king Scorpion automix)
The 414 calls for #6663.023 plates of which there are 16 plates
The VB 250 uses the 5363.023 clutch plates which has 15 plates.
I have used the 5363.023 plates with the 5363.027 springs in the 414
with no problems.  The regular 414 clutch uses the enduro springs (6763.027)
My problem is that I no longer have any clutch plates onhand :(

Sandy just checked my 1976 250/1979 250ve and 1981 414vg manuals and the only difference between all three are the number of plates 414(16) 250's(15) and the clutch springs on the 414(as jared say's) but every other part in the clutch housing has the same part numbers so should be the same.Have your plates wore out? if so you should be able to get some second hand one's to do the job as the plates themselves are the same at least from 1975 as i still have a clutch pack off a 1975 and plates are the same just one less.i was told by Sandifords ages ago that the cota plates were the same but without having them side by side could not be sure.

Just looked at my 360H6 manual and it has the same part number as the 414Vg for the clutch pack so that should fit as well.

I have been able to get Newfren brake pads for Montesa.  I will have to see if I can
clutch plates for the same.
