throw away the balancer and raise the exhaust port a couple of mms ..... will be like a ride at the show.

Black stripe/red pinstripe = SC500, If I'm not mistaken  ;D

After a good look the shopping list is as follows , reed cage,inlet to carb joint , carb to air box joint , kick lever, . allready got mx360 gears ,  pvl cdi , . Has anyone used the spoke sets from Ebay  thailand ? regards Iainyz

Ditch the PVL and use a DT400 ign for the flywheel effect ;) - or something with some flywheel weight.

Absolutely right Marc....and fit a 5 speed trans from an MX250/360 as 5th gear sits where the balancer was on the gear shaft. A DT400 cdi ignition is also a good mod as was (I'm told) using the 360 pipe.
I raced a couple of SC500 Yamhas including a really trick one in a Champion frame and I reckon they're way underrated. Sure they've got some inbuilt problems like piss poor pistons but most of the problems are fixable.

Yep, I have...check out the back wheel on my Cheney in the current VMX. They're fine.
