It must be NSW turn again to run the Nats but where would you suggest. I wouldn't mind if QLD ran it at Conandale if they put there hand up.
I'm a bit out of the loop these days but I don't know nice natural MX tracks in NSW.

The 2112 nats will probably be indoors on Mars with digital air adjusters on the valve caps... As for 2012... Theres some super lush countryside in northern NSW that'd be superb...
-
If all goes well 2012 Nats will be 2 events, pre '78 and post '78. Hopefully in 2 different states at 2 different times so that at least 1 of the events will be not too far to travel for a lot of people.

Hmm as I'm living in northern Inland NSW I like to know this track you speak of?

Pre 78 bikes will start fetching high price if it goes that way.

Excellent !! :P so if it splits at 75 ..we are rich ...yiipppeeeee ;) ;D
If there is a wish for the split at 78, those interested vmx clubs need to submitt something to MA pretty quick 8)

If they split it would be cool to hold the EVO nats at Echo Valley or a similar circuit. IMO it would need a big flowing track to allow the 500's room to be what their best at.
-
If the "split" is to take effect for 2012 Nats, clubs & state bodies need to be lobbied NOW.
Last year Heaven was the only negative club vote [which is their right].Was this the wish of the majority of their membership? MNSW voted against ,but were the other clubs involved in classic MX comsulted? Pit talk and this forum validate both questions.

I can tell you that the membership was not consulted at all about the response from the HEAVEN club to the proposal last year.
I hope that this years committee will see fit to put any future proposals to the members so that the wishes of the majority can be heard.
Cheers

I've also been told that the proposal wasn't tabled correctly at Penrith club. From conversations I've had with Penrith members the proposal was viewed by some within the clubs heirachy as some sort of evil Queensland plot. ::)
As a former long time president and secretary of Penrith club I sincerely hope that they consider the proposal with more seriousness this time around. Ditto HEAVEN.

we've all been coached by Bindi

Dont argue about it...move on.....go do it 8)

If it splits, one other will suffer in numbers

No it won't. It's already suffering now cos plenty of people like myself are not interested in driving halfway across the country for 3x3 lap races over 3 days!!
Split the Nats, run them at different venues and both will prosper.
-
I dont think numbers will hurt to much and may even improve over time. I will attend both if I can or which ever is closer. Be great to back some real racing instead of a dash and some 15 min races or 6 laps. Back on subject as to where in NSW you can run a good VMX these days?

About 2000 kms off the coast ;) either island would do :)

Papua New Guinea? Thursday Island?

Most punters love Buladelah. Apparently the facilities are going to be improved this year too.
The Lakes track gets a thumbs up from the post-74 crowd, without upsetting the pre-75 guys too much.
Historically, the Canberra club has been willing to modify their track to suit older bikes, and very willing to modify their track for National level events... I haven't seen it lately, but it has been toned down a lot from the dark days of 2009. Dunno if this would make it a suitable venue for the CMX Nats, but it could be an option to explore.
Most punters still rate the Coffs Nats highly. Again, its a modern track that can be modified to suit older bikes.
There's currently-operating grass-track venues in Gundagai, Cooma, and Bega (and Leeton and a couple of other places out that way, IIRC).
Finding a track isn't that hard - the real challenge is finding a track that is run by a friendly club/land owner and finding a club that has the motivation to actually run the event.
More than any other factor, that's what will determine where any future Nationals are held.
-
Yep Coffs was a cool nats ;D be happy to go there again :)
-
Heard all good for Coffs. :)
Though any venue with camping infrastructure, security, accessibility and just user freindly 8)
