Remember the movie All the Rivers Run...well thats the Conondale Green Park we know.
It's on a tribitury of the Mary and the Mary River runs into the ?? river and then onto Brisbane river,in other words as wet and as shitty as a daggy old sheep ;D
You can read about the fancy 2 tonne + steel bridge they built in 2009/2010 in this link :'(

and for the political/geographics of it all ,you can read about the dams in the south west of Queensland here.

It was a bit more than typical. The park got 150mm in 1 hour. tore out some roads, most of the fence's and a fair bit of the new enduro loop we put in :(
and the bridge.

That's one serious ElNino weather system..We had 90 mills in an hour (once upon a time) and we thought that was heavy duty :P :o

Creeks are all down now, the bridge or temp bridge over the Mary that the council were building ended up in Gympie. Kennilworthytes now have a long drive.
Havnt had a drive out to Green park however i dont think it will need a water truck for a while and the swampy bit in the carpark, hmmm.. got an 8wd Argo?
We did get a shyte load of the wet stuff. Creeks and rivers rose and did what they do, went down hill. Thats where the flooding had the most effect. My little creek rose and fell, covered the paddocks and the roads as the rain dictated, up and down. We were refuge for several groups of friends sheltering as they were trying in vain to travel north. Record falls according to the neighbor who we had to throw rolls of loo paper to as they stood thigh deep beside where their bridge once was.
Two days off work and a few shovel fulls of mud, hardly worth a mention when it comes to the people below Toowoomba. God speed, Jehovah or who ever you believe in...

Interesting that the river runs North then and ends up in the Wivenhoo Dam ?..
And the flood waters in Victoria are flowing North to the Murray River...kind of blows the theory that we are in the land of down under ;D

The Mary River Starts in the Mary Valley and runs to Gympie, Maryborough and then to the Sea near Hervey Bay. Gympie and Maryborough were both flooded because of all the rain in the Mary Valley.
