Title: it250f/g vs yz250f
Post by: mainline on January 23, 2011, 09:02:02 am
does anyone know whether the it250 f and G (79/80) models are the same engine (or will bolt into the frame) as a 79 YZ250F

I know the IT's tended to be updated a year later than the YZ's so I'm assuming the G model IT was basically the same as an F model YZ. Does anyone know for sure though?

Cheers

IT250F/G are pretty much the same engine, YZ250F engine is a straight swap/fit with either (gearbox ratios will be different and the IT's have more width for outer rotor type flywheel)

no, I'm not building a 250.

I've convinced another poor unsuspecting fool that he needs to get into VMX. He picked up a 250F roller and we're trying to find a motor for it.

Well done - obviously you have advised him not to ride in the same class as you so he doesn't get T Boned  ::) ;D

Didn't the IT  have a center exhaust port and the YZ to the side?
