Thats a good read and not suprising an idea has to start somewhere Iam glad suzuki went a head with the Full Floater that was right when the parents bought the Suzuki dealership in Maryborough QLD it created a few more sales, the best thing with the 125 that year was a lot less vibrations from the water cooled engine.

That was interesting. I wonder how much he eventually pocketed. I saw one reference to $19m. He also submitted patents in the 80's and 90's and worked with the bicycle manufacturers on all the later ideas. Apparently he founded Ricor racing shocks http://www.ricorshocks.com too!
I would surmise this is why Suzuki felt they did NOT need the monoshock that went to Yamaha, as they had the full-floater under wraps.
http://store.ricorshocks.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=22 has more info on him.

True Luke, especially when they were testing the floater back in '78.
I thought it all started with a mountain bike man/designer or something like that.
You look at a few of the mountain bikes going around on youtube and they lay claim to their "latest" design as being inovative and such, but to us its good ol' monoshock,uni-trak,full floater.
