We all do it, have stuff lying around for years that someone might really need and it collects dust up the back shed. Yeah Yeah we going to get it one day ;D.
Last year I changed my policy I sold a whole shed full of stuff that had been there 10 years untouched I just woke up and one day and thought this stuff needs to get back out there into the VMX community. I know old guys who have some great stuff that will never be used or leave there shed untill they die.
Just think about how much stuff dose one guy need? Plus now I sold all my old stuff I now have bought new stuff with the money ;D

I'll probably unload a bike when I get around to putting it back together. :-[
Everything else is just tooo precious... :)

I know the feeling ,someone else could use this stuff but then I think it took me years to collect , so its mine all mine you can fight over it when I kark it , lol , ;D

Yep I know that a 86 Ktm is not related to vmx in any way but I still miss it. :)

I went through the phase of having enough spare parts to keep all of my race bikes running until 3028AD, but have since learned that its just crap that clutters up your life. The difficulty I've had in selling some supposedly rare/valuable bits at half the accepted market value, shows that the "treasure hoarder" mentality is 95% bullshit - it might be rare, but its probably not worth going on with the "my precious" routine that we're all (sometimes) guilty of.
I've lost count of the number of times people have knocked back decent offers for stuff I've wanted to buy from them, with the words "it's worth way more than that" - and six months later, its on Ebay for the fifteenth time, with a Buy It Now price that's below the offer I made...
Hmmm... that probably shows my current state of mind a little too clearly... :D I guess what I'm trying to say is that it is very easy to be sucked into the hoarder mentality and/or convince yourself that all these piles of shit are going to make you rich one day. In reality, its probably just making your life harder and distracting you from the stuff that actually matters.
One thing that works really well, is when you've got mates with similar bikes and you have a shared parts pool - it nominally belongs to one of you, but it will be made available to anyone who actually needs it. That way you've got access to all of the bits you (might) need, without having to have too many piles of stuff hanging around just in case.

My shed is nearly overflowing but we are getting a factory close to home so I can get some built I want to get the tm400 done to race perhaps at CD.
You have to have a hobby if it is vmx or vinduro you can have one bike or 50 some people it isn't riding or working on the bike it is just knowing it is there.
I can't have to much PE stuff I am happy if some one thinks you can and wants to sell especially 400's. :)

Haha ! Good one Michael, ;) we have enjoyed watching you getting your stuff together in the last couple of years, and there isn't anyone on here that wouldn't steer PE stuff your way, as we love seeing the enthusiasm of youth for the tortured world of vmx. Hope you do get the TM out and give it a gallop at CD, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised how many forum gibberers are fans of yours. :)
PS Also well done on using a bit of the old punctuation these days ! :D BTW I used to own a PE400 when I was a publican in 1986, I bought it for $400, caned the bejezus out of it riding in the Perth hills for 9 months, and sold it for $400. SPEW !! ::)

I reckon its a bit like a mini one of these(link below) !! ;D creeps up sometimes way before 50.
Depends how long you have been hoarding bits for too. :P
Then rolling into your 60's your going for more $$ quality gathering style, this could happen earlier.
70's your pushing for small, comfort, performance and neatness.
80's your totally content with whatever you got. 8)
your 90's u dream ;D

Who cares how much stuff anyone's got? As long as it gives you pleasure and helps in keeping you sane and content, the more the better I reckon.

My Policy now is 2 years. If it's still un used or unfinished after 2 years off it goes.
