391305 MC250 - FRAME

U277902 - ENGINE

Adam.....The engine's a '73 250 but the frame number doesn't compute. The 73 frame starts with 393. The '72 frame starts with 383. Are you sure it's not 381? If it is it's a '70 frame.

this cant be right but  391---- comes up as a   89 mc 320
but if its not stamped properly then a 394---- comes up as a  74/250/400/440
so if its not done right the 4 could be a 1
hear we go again

The numbers are definatly

391305 on the frame in two spots, One on the id plate on head stem and also stamped on the frame.

Engine is also U277902.

I would say they have stuffed up in the factory, Bloody germans. Has a glass tank etc.

???????

Bike is for sale any body interested PM me, Needs full resto but a good start it also runs. I will try to post up some pictures etc.

Bike is also not mine it's a friends but they are negotible on a reasonable price.

While your trying to make sense out of German logic,
My Maico is eng. K278 655 & frame 340 802
I know it's an Enduro model, it came with an up pipe, & is stamped GS.
According to the chart in the other thread its a 74 wide ratio engine but the frame No. doesn't match up with anything so maybe YZ 360A's Maico is an Enduro frame as you may be missing the Enduro frame No's from all the lists.
The frame doesn't have the exhaust mount bracket for the under slung exhaust like the MC's.
I wonder if it has a different rake to the MC's as well?
I know of another that is 4 numbers younger than mine.

Does anyone have any info on the GS models of 73 / 74  & / or pictures.

Just noticed the 89 model 391 is followed by a four digit No. where as the early stuff is follwed by a 3 digit No.

I'm still up for a photo if anyone has one.
