Just a quick eligibility question. Is an early mugen 125 reed cylinder legal for pre 75 racing or were there made too late (75-78) to qualify?
-
Rod - you would have to check on the particular cylinder but there is evidence that Mugen started early enough for it to comply?
-
The earliest Mugen reed valve cylinder i've seen was for a '76 CR125 same as Steve Wise used in '77 AMA 125 Nationals.
-
JO - the 72 RC125 had a reed diidn't it - was Mugen involved with Honda then - I thought 72 was about when they were starting out?

No JO is right , before 76 only "G.P" kits were available from Honda for CR125's .They weren't Mugen and they weren't reedvalved.
-
but Mugen started earlier than 76?

nup MM and JO are correctomundo!

According to what i've read the Mugen motorcycle division started in '76.

If you can find a kit buy it anyway - for an investment!
